Email Marketing

Email marketing and lifecycle automation

We build email marketing flow systems designed to sell more to the same customer base.

Email is the only channel where you own the audience: you don't depend on an auction or an algorithm change to reach it. That's why it's the best place to work on repeat purchases and Lifetime Value.

What we solve

Email marketing in Klaviyo, with SMS and WhatsApp in the flows where immediacy pays off. We start with the automations that sustain the channel all year: welcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase and repeat purchase. One-off campaigns come later. We segment by behavior and customer value, and send frequency is adjusted with performance data, not the calendar.

How we work

  1. Automated flows

We start with the automations that run on their own all year: welcome, abandonment, post-purchase, repeat purchase and retention. One-off campaigns come later.

  2. Segmentation by behavior and value

We activate segments based on behavior, value and lifecycle stage, not generic lists.

  3. Send frequency

Sending more isn't selling more. Frequency is adjusted with performance data, not by the calendar.

  4. Aligned with the rest of the plan

We define what to communicate, when and to whom, aligning email with paid media, CRO and business goals.

Flows and campaigns

Flows with conditions, across email, SMS and WhatsApp

A flow isn't a row of emails: it waits, checks whether the person has already bought, switches channel based on customer value and knows when to stop. We build it in Klaviyo, segmented by behavior and value, and measure it by what each flow sells.

Inside a flow: abandoned cart

  1. TriggerAdds items to the cart and leaves
  2. Wait 1 hour
  3. ConditionAlready purchased?Yes: exits the flow
  4. No
  5. EmailThe item left behind, with its photo and price
  6. Wait 1 day
  7. ConditionHigh-value customer?
  8. Yes, high value

    EmailReviews, shipping times and returns

What we measure in each flow

Revenue by flow

  • Deliverability

    Stable

No open rate: since email clients started preloading images, it no longer tells you who read the email. Revenue per recipient is what a send brings in divided by the people who receive it; deliverability means emails land in the inbox, not in spam.

Email Marketing in detail

Automations first, campaigns second

The order matters because the results are very different. Automations work on their own all year on people who have just shown interest: welcome, abandoned cart, browse abandonment, post-purchase and repeat purchase. They are a handful of emails, set up once, and they sustain the channel without depending on anyone.

Segmenting by behavior and value, and looking after the list

A single list treated the same way does two kinds of damage at once: it bores people who buy often and overwhelms people who haven't opened an email in six months. We segment by recent behavior and customer value, the two dimensions that really change the message.

How to measure the channel without fooling yourself

Opens stopped being a reliable metric once email clients started preloading images: some of the opens you see weren't made by a person. We work with clicks, revenue attributed by flow and by campaign, and revenue per recipient, which is the figure that lets you compare one send with another.

The only channel where you own the audience

In paid media you rent attention: raise the bid and you reach people, stop paying and you disappear. An email list doesn't work that way. It's an asset you build once and maintain, and it doesn't depend on an auction or an algorithm change to reach people who have already bought from you.

Frequently asked questions

What we get asked most before we start working together. If yours is not here, just ask us.

  1. How many subscribers do you need for email to pay off?

Fewer than people usually think, because most of the results come from automations, and those work from the very first visitor. With a small but active list, the abandoned cart and post-purchase flows already contribute. What doesn't work with a small list is mass campaigns, which need volume for the send to justify the work of preparing it.

  2. Why Klaviyo instead of the platform we already use?

Klaviyo connects best with Shopify and segments best by purchase behavior, which is what drives results in ecommerce. That said, if you already have a platform set up and it works, migrating has a cost and we weigh it before proposing it. We don't switch platforms out of habit.

  3. How many emails a month will you send?

It isn't decided in advance or by the calendar. It's adjusted with deliverability and revenue-per-recipient data, and it varies a lot between a fashion ecommerce store with high repeat purchase and a services business. What is fixed is the rule: as soon as frequency starts hurting the domain's sender reputation, it goes down.

  4. Are opens useful for anything?

Not much, since email clients started preloading images and marking as opened emails nobody has seen. We use them as a relative signal between similar sends, never as a measure of success. The metrics we make decisions on are clicks, revenue attributed by flow and campaign, and revenue per recipient.

  5. Do you also handle SMS and WhatsApp?

Yes, within the same Klaviyo flows. Email carries the weight, and SMS or WhatsApp come in where immediacy pays off, like a high-value cart or a shipping notice, always with each channel's specific consent. We send SMS in Spain; Klaviyo doesn't currently offer it in Latin America, where the fast channel is WhatsApp, through the brand's WhatsApp Business account.

  6. Who writes and designs the emails?

That's agreed at the start, depending on how you work. We can handle the copywriting and the template design, or build the structure and flows so your team produces the content. What we don't recommend is mixing the two without rules: brand consistency across sends shows in performance.

  7. Can this be done without annoying customers?

That's exactly why we segment and control frequency. Someone who gets three relevant emails a month isn't bothered; someone who gets three identical promotions a week unsubscribes and also hurts deliverability for everyone else. Working the channel well and not burning out the list are the same job.
